Mey Joins the Effort: begins mask production

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Mey, the German-based brand, has put some of their premium lingerie and undergarments manufacturing on hold in favor of using their facilities and resources to producing face masks that cover both the nose and mouth; these will be exclusively for hospitals and other medical facilities.

Matthias Mey, Managing Partner of the Mey Group, said: “We have seen such a sharp rise in requests for medical personal protective equipment in recent days that we have decided to promptly start producing functional face masks to cover the mouth and nose. Our products are made of cotton, meaning they can be washed at 90° and reused multiple times. This gives them a real advantage over disposable alternatives. Our final tests and prototypes are due to be signed off today and we will make a start on production at the beginning of next week.”
