Interview with Nikolay Yartsev the director of CPM BODY & BEACH project

13 February 2020

Nikolay Yartsev, director of the CPM project, shares with us the main news of the upcoming show

Nikolay Yartsev, director of the CPM project, shares with us the main news of the upcoming show, which will take place in Expocentre in Krasnaya Presnya in Moscow from 24th to 27th of February.

What changes are you observing from year to year at the CPM exhibition? Which are the most evolving product categories?

If we talk about the changes using the exhibition’s statistical indicators, the primary quantitative and qualitative change is in the composition of visitors. I can say that over the past few seasons the number of visitors from the Central and Volga Federal Districts has increased, and the North Caucasus and Far East regions show a slight decline in visits. At the same time, the overall attendance rate of the exhibition is growing steadily, if we compare the equivalent seasons. As for the changes in certain product categories, the leaders in the growth of visitors’ interest in the thematic sections of the exhibition are segments of men’s clothing and plus-size clothing. The interest in leather and fur clothes has decreased; this can be explained with the global trend towards responsible and sustainable fashion. Nevertheless, the leather and fur segment is in a stable position at the exhibition.

Specifically, in the Body & Beach area, how do you see its evolution?

After having analyzed the polls of exhibitors, the interest in the categories of basic underwear and plus-size underwear remains the most underestimated of the exhibition in terms of volume of purchases. These are future growth drivers. Also, having studied the trends, and having an understanding of the current market situation, we see great potential in the activewear segment, therefore, in February, as part of the CPM Body & Beach section, we will introduce manufacturers of clothing for fitness and yoga. A traditional business program block and a special show focusing on fitness clothing will accompany the new direction at the upcoming exhibition.

What awaits us at the February session?

In addition to the new fitness area, interesting seminars and masterclasses, presentations and numerous shows await visitors and exhibitors in February. A professional business program is a hallmark of CPM. Particular attention should be paid to the trend zone, organized by Fashion Consulting Group in collaboration with the international trend bureau FashionSnoops.com, where visitors can learn about the current trends in lingerie fashion.

How many brands and exhibitors are you expecting? Any significant newcomers?
In February, 135 brands from 25 countries will be participants of the CPM Body & Beach section. We are very glad to see among the new exhibitors a designer brand from Macau, Goddes Armor, the Swiss brand Calida, Pretty you London, from England, the French brand Michelle Morren, as well as several new brands from Spain and Turkey.

Will you still have international participants in the pavilions in the Body & Beach pavilion?

Of course, international participants will traditionally take part in the show. This upcoming edition will host several countries: Italy, Germany, Greece, Turkey, and Spain. In total, we expect brands from 25 countries to be present in the CPM Body & Beach section. CPM exhibition is well known around the world as a professional B2B platform, due to our long-lasting collaboration with the co-organizing Igedo Company. Attracting new players to the rapidly changing market of the fashion industry is one of the key tasks of our international team: we manage this task with constant success.

Once again Intimoda will be present at the show with its lounge area and will organize the New Faces young designer competition, rewarding emerging lingerie designers interested in introducing their brand in Russia. A fashion show will present the 5 finalists of the fifth edition.
