At the end of March, Chantelle had announced the mobilization of its teams in response to the urgent need for protective equipment for the COVID-19 emergency. Focused on Category 1 textile masks, production is now reaching 500,000 pieces per week.
On March 20, Chantelle came into contact with the Strategic Committee of the Fashion and Luxury Chain (CSF) appointed by the French Ministry of Economy which coordinates the textile chain for the production of protective masks. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to the commitment of its collaborators who voluntarily offered to continue their activities to take action against the emergency, the company has put its expertise to the production of Category 1 textile masks. Today 500,000 masks are being produced every week in the Group's factories, with Oeko-Tex 100 certified materials, respecting the required sanitary conditions.
Made of fabric, washable and reusable (withstands over 50 wash-cycles in the washing machine at 60°C without signs of wear or shrinkage of materials), the Chantelle masks have been certified by the DGA (Direction Générale de l'Armément, part of the French Ministry of Defense), in particular for uses specific to Category 1, intended for professional use for those who are obliged to keep in regular contact with the public. They have a filtering capacity of over 90% for particles of 2 microns and offer breathability of over 96%, for a maximum duration of use of 4 hours per day.
